Our Corporate Legal Department at the Tokyo, Japan office is looking immediately for a highly motivated

 

 

                                      Legal and IP Manager

 

The Legal and Intellectual Property Manager will provide legal expertise in areas of agreements/contracts, IP, legal compliance, and litigation management based on solid understanding of the company’s business and market environment, demands, and practices. This position would also optimize the whole process related to IP/Legal internally and externally.

He/ she will highly raise the value of all the Triumph Brands through protecting our product design, patents and trademarks.

He/ she will investigate and apply trademark, patent and design as not to be appealed for their rights abuse by the other companies.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Legal

  • Review and draft agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights and compliance to statutory and legal requirements
  • Review and provide legal advice on legal documents, sales contracts, and liaise with relevant departments to identify risk and to provide constructive recommendations
  • Advise with respect to, and participate in (when required) the negotiation of contracts/agreement
  • Coordinate and manage specialist outside counsel on specific projects, issues, or litigation
  • Assist the preparation and drafting of Board resolutions
  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization

Intellectual Property

Patent and Design; Trademark

  • Responsible for infringement prevention for Patent and Design, and Trademark
  • Accountable for the application and intermediate treatment
  • Settle and facilitate the infringement with a lawyer
  • Protect the brand and design; logos, brand line names, the distinct features of the products and etc. under the copyright, unfair competition prevention act
  • Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading presentations, and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law
  • Working with key internal stakeholders in the local and global headquarters; and with the external stakeholders such as a lawyer, patent attorney and others
  • Take ownership in all the aspects of administrative responsibilities as an expert in intellectual property

 

Your ideal profile:

  • Proven experience dealing with Intellectual property from a manufacturer for at least 5 years
  • Knowledge in intimate apparel or fashion industry (Nice to have but not mandatory)
  • Excellent knowledge of corporate laws and procedures
  • A multi-tasker with a flexible can-do attitude, sound judgment and ability to analyze the situation
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills
  • Language: Native Japanese; Intermediate to Business English
  • Education:  University degree (Nice to have- relevant to Legal, Intellectual Property/ Brand and Design/ Business Management)
  • Proactive, practical, hands-on approach and strong administration background
  • IT Skills: MS Office (Word, Excel)
