We are immediately looking for a professional Buyer with outstanding expertise in Malaysia & Singapore fashion markets to join our Brand Merchandising division at our Petaling Jaya (Malaysia) office as:

 

 

                                                                                    Buyer (Malaysia & Singapore)

 

Buyer is the key member in the merchandising team who will support the Merchandising & Buying Manager to deliver the merchandising strategy and achieve the budget by formulating, conducting and implementing various kinds of analysis and planning (e.g., merchandising plan, buying plan, sell-through and stock clearance plan).

This role will also work closely with the commercial and marketing team to achieve the sales growth with targeted profitability.

Roles & Responsibilities:

   

Drive Sales and Margins

  1. Manage portfolio and grow segments in accordance to brand guidelines and meeting market consumer needs.
  2. Work with Demand Planning to ensure sufficiency of products in the correct assortment.
  3. Work with sales team to drive product/concept launches.
  4. Work with Marketing and VM department to plan 360 launch for Main concepts.
  5. Conduct monthly briefings with BAs on launch plans & activities.

 

Optimise Product Assortment/Range & New Product Development

  1. Manage merchandise selection, assortment & buying plan and product life cycle planning.
  2. Define coherent price structure and strategies for all assortments.
  3. Gather feedback regularly and systematically from SEs and BAs on new product selections & assortment plan improvements to meet local market demands.
  4. Gather information regularly on Competitors’ activities and products.
  5. Plan and execute promotion to drive sell through
  6. Ensure new products in-coming is tracked and make amendments to marketing plans if any delays.
  7. WIP delays (potential loss of sales) are identified, and develop Plan 'B' to close sales gaps.

Administration & Reports

  1. Ensure on-time submission of all reports to Local & Regional Office and share with internal department.
  2. Follow through the timely administration to ensure SAP system captures right information (e.g. listing, new material creations, promotion price off, PLC assignment).

 

Others

Any other ad-hoc reports, initiatives and projects assigned.

Your ideal profile:

  • More than 2  years' experience as a Buyer in the Retail or Fashion industry is mandatory.
  • Excellent knowledge of fashion market trends in South East Asia region, particularly Malaysia and Singapore 
  •  Experience in intimate wear is a plus, but not mandatory  
  •  Well versed in handling large SKUs    
  •  Analytical & data driven: Proven ability to make sound business decisions based on data (previous sales figures, future sales forecast, etc)    
  • Fluent English proficiency 
  • Cross-functional communication & teamwork abilities
  • Experience working with global/regional team is a plus, as this position will be liaising with regional teams based in Asia Pacific
