Our Production Department in Chennai is looking for a

Production Executive

Your Responsibilities:

Safety                                                                                                                       

  • Ensure compliance to Triumph’s Global Safety & Product Safety policies including metal free, contamination and needle control.
  • Implement and maintain 6S principles through floor walk

 Quality

  • Ensure Article Description (AD) and Machine Attachments are followed as documented for each style
  • Ensure that all finished garments conform to Triumph’s Global Quality Standards.
  • Understand and react to quality indicators including Inline, End line, and AQL rejections
  • Ensure action plan is derived for bottom 3 high quality rejection percentage operators
  • Ensure RQC, EC, rework process are working, and containment is in place where applicable
  • Manage and direct operators to resolve Red traffic light indicators as per Roving QC processes
  • Ensure that Operator follows the self-checking / measurement deployment and conform to “no defect forward” policy.
  • Follow up on stain report every day and take necessary actions to control
  • Ensure Stage Samples are in place for newly loaded styles
  • Ensure Critical to quality alert (CTQ) hand out is given to line (from launch) during AD reading of new style
  • Ensure warning slip is given for commissions that has more color groups
  • Ensure double red card operators are screened with Floor Managers

Delivery

  • Meet the budgeted OEE target
  • Deliver daily targets on time in full (“OTIF”) with good quality.
  • Increase standard time produced to meet forecasted annual minutes as per budget.
  • Lead efforts to improve Operator efficiency while ensuring they follow correct method. Engage the entire team and support departments in eliminating losses and improving efficiency.
  • Ensure WIP is under min max numbers
  • Ensure open orders are closed according to FIFO
  • Ensure lead time is under control
  • Ensure style change over parameters are fulfilled as mentioned in check list
  • Collect data, analyze, and ensure corrective actions are in place for continuous improvement of all KPI’s.
  • Take up additional projects to improve operational processes when required by the Organization.
  • Ensure Re cuts are followed properly
  • Escalate issues to superiors at timely intervals
  • Ensure updating of skill matrix done every week
  • Log in the issues in launch book in case of deviation from AD
  • Ensure updating of Downtime in PC Downtime Sheet.
  • Ensure coupon tickets are handed over to Scanning Department during shift closure
  • Ensure Single point lesson (SPL) is being prepared for unidentified issues cropping up for first time
  • Manage the team by allotting work to down the line staff
  • Ensure B grade procedure is followed
  • Ensure under consumed materials are returned
  • Conduct Daily Floor Walks and follow up on Safety, quality and delivery targets.
  • Ensure compliance to POS (Production Operating System)

People

  • Conduct Performance Appraisals twice per year for all direct reports
  • Manage absenteeism and attrition through attendance; comply with “return to work” policies
  • Develop core competencies based on skills matrix for Supervisors and Operators
  • Train, coach and mentor staff to be effective leaders
  • Interface with other supporting departments including Mechanics, Pre-production, RMWH, Launch, QA, Maintenance and HR. Ensure all sewing minute losses are addressed real time
  • Ensure and Plan to train operators through Production Training school (PTS) is ready
  • Make leave plan and backup plan of operators / staff
  • Make OJT request, replacement, commercial conversions and change of status
  • Attend Kanban meeting daily for input planning
  • Derive Action plan and follow up on Operators whose minutes are < 300
  • Ensure OJT operators are trained properly with quality
  • Request Jumpers based on absenteeism

 Cost

  • Reduce rework and deploy first time through (“FTT”) principles.
  • Manage over consumption
  • Reduce “B”-Grades
  • Control OT hours; Regulate OT hours worked per day/week/month/quarter in compliance with local laws and Regulations.
  • Ensure disciplined work environment for all. Develop an environment of Teamwork and focus on waste elimination

Effectiveness

  • Ensure on-time shift start-up. Understand start-up losses and work to eliminate all losses
  • Monitor hourly count and bottlenecks, updating of hourly board each hour. Take appropriate action/s to eliminate the bottlenecks, balance the line
  • Prepare Work Distribution Plan (WDP) to be loaded styles for 60% OEE in coordination with Mechanics
  • Manage daily Production and Pilot runs according to the loading plans and launch schedules with minimal delays

Your ideal profile:

  • Previous experience in production (minimum 7 years in Garment Manufacturing preferably in intimate apparel)
  • Technical sewing knowledge (optional)
  • Ability to increase production through work study techniques
  • Good Understanding of Quality Control
  • Ability to detect faults quickly and efficiently
  • 1-2 years leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably B. Tech
