Our IT Department in Tokyo, Japan is looking for a strong IT leader with expertise in E-Commerce & ERP system strategy to join us as:

HEAD OF IT JAPAN

The Head of IT Japan is part of the global IT organisation and supports the establishment and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

He/she leads and manages the Japanese IT function and holds the ownership of all local IT services and maintenance of existing IT systems.

He/she works closely together with the global IT team located in Europe, the Japanese Business Units including Supply Chain to develop a clear understanding of business needs and ensures cost-effective delivery of IT.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
•    Lead and manage the local IT team in Japan, comprising of 8 employees.
•    Act as a strategic business partner, aligning IT strategies with business goals to drive success and enhance customer satisfaction in the Japanese market.
•    Collaborate with product owners and IT stakeholders in Europe to develop and implement effective IT solutions.
•    Bridge cultural and language gaps between the Japanese team and the global headquarters in Switzerland, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.
•    Understand and address the specific needs of the Japanese market, with a strong emphasis on Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) operations such as E-Commerce and owned retail.
•    Contribute to the global IT leadership team, shaping the company’s worldwide IT strategy.
•    Participate as a key member of the Japan Management Team, providing IT insights to guide decision-making.
•    Balance global IT standardization with local customization, ensuring solutions are scalable while meeting regional requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
•    E-Commerce Expertise: 
    o    Demonstrated experience in managing IT operations that support E-Commerce platforms (e.g. Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify)
    o    Familiarity with agile methodologies for delivering digital projects in an iterative, customer-focused manner.
•    Digital Marketing Technologies: 
   o    Experience with implementing and managing digital marketing tools and technologies, such as: 
             Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
             Marketing Automation Platforms (e.g., Adobe Marketing Cloud, Marketo).
             Data Analytics Tools for monitoring campaign performance and customer behavior (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
             Content Management Systems (CMS) for managing websites and digital content (e.g., WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager).
   o    Collaboration with marketing teams to leverage technology for targeted campaigns, personalization, and customer engagement.
•    ERP System Experience: 
   o    Hands-on experience in ERP systems to support business functions such as finance, supply chain, and inventory management.
   o    Ability to evaluate business processes and re-engineer them together with the global ERP product owners
•    Local IT Operations Management: 
  o    Proven experience in overseeing IT infrastructure, including server management, network administration, and hardware/software support.
  o    Track record of maintaining and enhancing digital workplace environments, ensuring tools and systems support productivity and collaboration.
  o    Strong background in user support services, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of IT-related issues for employees.

  • Language Proficiency:
    • Fluency in English (business level) and Japanese (native or near-native level) to communicate effectively with international and local teams.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Familiarity with modern IT tools and practices, including cloud-based platforms, cybersecurity protocols, data analytics systems, and digital marketing technologies.
  • Cross-Cultural Competence:
    • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, bridging differences in work styles, business practices, and decision-making approaches between Japan and Europe.
  • Stakeholder Management:

Skilled at building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to align IT objectives with broader business goals.
