Our Commercial Finance Department in Tokyo is looking for a FP&A professional with expertise in financial planning & analysis in retail sector in Japan to join our team as:

Japan Commercial Finance Manager (FP&A) - Retail 

This role shall contribute to the Business Unit's profitability and productivity improvement by supporting the decision-making of the leaders and the teams through providing analytical and fact-based information and recommendations.

Your Responsibilities:

Responsible for the development and improvement of commercial finance planning and analytical support and deliver key insights on trends and data relationships to assist with business planning and decision support.

 

  1. Collaborate with Commercial functions, i.e. Sales Channels and Brand functions , GM, and other related departments
    • Arrange and facilitate weekly/monthly meetings
    • Propose financial target of MTP/BUD/Forcast to the channel heads
    • Identify timely risk and opportunities across channels to achieve the target
    • Provide call-to-action report sets in a timely manner to sales leaders
  2. Data management
    • Partnering with IT to design, implement, and improve the data availability and accuracy
    • Take ownership of SAP SD and sales-related systems (SIS, POS, etc.)
    • Develop and ensure reliable handling of master maintenance processes
  3. Gather Data
    • Gather and maintain a wide range of data-related business processes and reporting, coordinating with other departments (e.g. Merchandising, Sales, etc.)
    • Support related divisions/departments with data structures and processes to ensure consistency, security, and accessibility
  4. Analyze and provide accurate information for decision making
    • Develop reporting that aligns with corporate strategy in a standardized format across sales channels
    • Partner with sales channels, merchandising and GM to support business strategies, identify challenges, set action plans.
    • Cross-examine different data and/or apply statistical methodologies to draw conclusions and provide meaningful commentary and/or recommendations to the sales leadership team
    • Provide proposals on strategies and actions to partners
  5. Team building
    • Build and grow the team to fulfill company objectives

 

 

 

 

             

Your ideal profile:

  • More than 3 - 5 years of solid experience related to FP&A and Finance Business Partnering in reasonable size of an entity within B2B FMCG or Apparel Retail industry in Japan.
  • Knowledge of Tax & internal control
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and strong stakeholder management
  • Fluent Japanese and operational level of business English, spoken and written
