JAPAN CORE APPLICATION MANAGER

We are seeking a Core Application Manager Japan to support and enhance SAP ERP and EWM solutions for the Japan market. This role is a critical bridge between Japan business operations and the global IT organization, ensuring alignment and smooth execution across B2B and B2C processes. The manager will lead a local SAP related team, coordinate with global product owners, offshore and global IT/vendors, and serve as the first escalation point for Japan. This position requires strong expertise in SAP supply chain processes, proven experience in ERP-to-S/4HANA upgrade projects, and bilingual communication skills to effectively collaborate with both local stakeholders and global counterparts.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 職務内容
- Provide end-to-end support for SAP ERP and EWM solutions for the Japan market.
- Oversee a broad scope of supply chain processes, including order management, shipping, billing, inventory management, procurement, and selected FI-related operations.
- Manage both B2B and B2C business requirements, ensuring alignment with global standards while addressing Japan-specific needs.
- Handle local solutions such as delivery note/price tag generation, warehouse facility related systems in close coordination with local vendors.
- Lead requirements definition for SAP-related initiatives, working closely with global IT/offshore/vendors for development and ensuring seamless integration.
- Act as the primary IT interface between Japan Distribution and Warehouse teams and global IT, ensuring clear communication, prioritization, and alignment with global strategies.
- Manage and coach a direct team (2–3 members).
- Serve as the first escalation point for the area of responsibility in Japan for incident resolution and ensure timely issue reporting and resolution in collaboration with global support teams.
- Contribute actively to the upcoming S/4HANA upgrade project, leveraging prior ERP-to-S/4HANA transition experience.

REQUIRED
・ Strong knowledge of SAP ERP and EWM solutions with a focus on supply chain operations.
・ Proven experience in requirements gathering and coordination with global and offshore vendors.
・ Direct experience in SAP ERP to S/4HANA upgrade projects.
・ Solid understanding of supply chain processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, billing, etc.).
・ Experience managing small teams and coordinating with global IT and cross-functional, international stakeholders.
・ Ability to serve as escalation point and manage incident resolution in collaboration with global support.
・ Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English (bilingual proficiency required).
PREFERRED
- Previous experience in the apparel, retail, or consumer goods industry.
- Familiarity with local Japan-specific SAP requirements (e.g., invoicing, reporting formats).
- Experience working in multinational companies with complex IT landscapes and cross-cultural teams.
