Our Finance Department in Brisbane, Australia is looking for an experienced Finance Management leader with strong expertise in Australia and New Zealand markets to join us as:
HEAD OF FINANCE AUSTRALIA-NEW ZEALAND (Based in Australia)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Head of Finance is a senior professional who manages the company's financial affairs. They also form part of the Senior Leadership Team in Australia.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1- Overall
- Management and development of the Finance and Accounting Team
- Monthly and annual statutory and tax reporting according to tax regulation;
- Control of legal and financial risks;
- Management of relationships with external consultants lawyers, advisors, statutory auditors and external auditors.
- Consistently drive a transparent Performance Appraisal within local F&A organisation in line with Global HR guideline
- Reporting
2- Accounting:
- Certification of Financial results
- Closing done on time and in full (OTIF)
- Compliance with current/future global/local regulations
- Reduce days-to-close to allow faster management review/intervention
3- Tax/VAT:
- Full compliance with legislation and Triumph corporate model
- Full defence plan / no significant adverse rulings
- Prevention, mapping and reduction of tax liabilities
- Prepare annual tax computations
4- Transfer Pricing:
- Transfer Price documentation OTIF in accordance with local/Global regulations
5- Treasury
- Securitization of cash
- Meet companies working capital and liquidity requirments
- Manage intercompany payments
6- Finance Systems
- Provide full support / input to Triumph SAP glide path
7- Financial Planning
- Drive forecast accuracy improvement
- KPI establishment & KPI reporting
- Provide visibility on full year performances
- Provide visibility and sensitivity on Business Plan simulation
- Ensure company investments in “what is right for the future” fixing financial go / non go criteria in accordance with budget/business plan
8- S&M Finance
- Support success of Go Retail strategy
- Support improvement of wholesale new business models (franchising)
9- M&A
- Pro-active mapping, screening, and evaluation of potential opportunities
10- Audit
- Prepare year end pack detailing breakout and support schedules of information required
- Timely audit OTIF
- Reduction of audit recommendations year on year
Additional tasks:
- Business process re-engineering
- Restructuring projects
- Deep knowledge of the daily business. To be in the frontline
- Creating transparencies on possible risks/opportunities
- Profit Protection
- Identifying any needs to reduce costs to cover for sales shortfall
•Escalation & Follow-up
Your ideal profile:
- Senior Finance Management Professional with over 10 years’ Hands On experience in multi-national companies within Retail or FMCG sectors in Australia; with 3 years in executive management level.
- The expertise covers planning & reporting, controlling, treasury management, system implementation, taxation and business integration.
- Proven strengths in:
- Solid functional background in all financial areas with both statutory and IFRS accounting and reporting experience
- Strong business process management skill with good business insight
- Effective communication and able to influence all levels of staff including management team members
- Experienced in reporting and/or working with senior management team located outside of Australia, ideally in Asia Pacific and/or Europe.
- Australian CPA qualification desirable.
