Data Engineer (f/m/d) (100%)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating data pipelines, and data products on our platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our data systems.
This position is hybrid, with 2 mandatory days at our office in Madrid.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platform solutions using real-time or near real-time data to drive innovation and efficiency across the organization as part of our Data Mesh Architecture.
- Create, optimize and maintain APIs for data access and integration in collaboration with product and data teams.
- Create and maintain Canonical data models in line with business requirements.
- Collaborate with data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data products.
- Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance and reliability.
- Implement data security and governance best practices and ensuring Data Catalog is up to date with latest business definitions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data platform issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our data platform.
Your ideal profile:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of API design, RESTful services, API security, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Rust, or Scala
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Familiar with CI/CD environment (e.g. Terraform)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Exposure to the fashion, retail, FMCG industry would be beneficial
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work within a team of both technical and non-technical users
